Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Your photos never leave your device. Photo Optimizer scans, previews, and compresses your photos entirely on your iPhone or iPad using on-device frameworks. We do not upload, store, view, or have any access to your photos, their contents, or their metadata, and the app's photo features work without a network connection.
1. General Information
This Privacy Policy explains how Pin Traveler, LLC ("Pin Traveler", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Photo Optimizer iOS application (the "App") and the Photo Optimizer website (together, the "Service"). Pin Traveler, LLC is the data controller responsible for the information described in this policy.

By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Use.
2. Your Photos Stay on Your Device
Photo Optimizer asks for access to your photo library so it can find large photos, show before-and-after previews, and save or overwrite compressed versions. All of this processing happens locally on your device.
- Your photos, and the compressed versions the App creates, are never sent to our servers or to any third party.
- We do not collect photo metadata such as location, capture date, camera details, or file names.
- You can change or revoke the App's photo library access at any time in iOS Settings.
If you choose to copy a compressed photo to your clipboard or share it with another app, that transfer is made by you, through iOS, and is governed by the privacy practices of the app or service you share it with.
3. What Is Personal Data
"Personal data" means any information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with a particular person or device. It does not include data that has been anonymized or aggregated so that it can no longer be linked to you.
4. Information We Collect
Photo Optimizer does not require or offer user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or other contact details in the App. We collect the following limited information:
Device identifiers
- The Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), only if you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- The Identifier for Vendors (IDFV) and identifiers generated by our analytics and measurement partners' software development kits (SDKs).
Device and usage data
- Device model, operating system version, App version, language, and country or region settings.
- IP address, which may be used to estimate your approximate location (such as country or city).
- How you interact with the App, such as installs, App opens, sessions, screens viewed, features used, and the number and size of photos optimized. This never includes the photos themselves.
- Information about how you found the App, such as the ad campaign or source that led to your install.
Diagnostics
- Crash reports, stack traces, and performance data that help us find and fix problems.
Purchase information
- Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive information about the status of your purchase or subscription (for example, the product purchased and whether it is active), but we never receive your payment card details.
Information you send us
- If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
Website
Our website is a static informational site. Our hosting provider, Google Firebase Hosting, may process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site.
5. On What Basis We Collect and Use Personal Data
Depending on where you live, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent, for example when you allow tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests, such as understanding how the App is used, fixing crashes, measuring the effectiveness of our marketing, and keeping the Service secure.
- Performance of a contract, such as providing the subscription or features you purchased.
- Legal obligations, where we must process data to comply with applicable law.
- Legal claims, where processing is needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
6. How We Use the Data
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- To understand how the App is used and which features are most valuable.
- To detect, diagnose, and fix crashes, bugs, and performance problems.
- To attribute App installs to the marketing campaigns that led to them and to measure and optimize our advertising on other platforms.
- To verify and manage your subscription or purchase status.
- To respond to your questions and requests.
- To protect the security and integrity of the Service and to comply with the law.
Photo Optimizer does not display advertisements inside the App.
7. Third-Party Partners
We share the device identifiers and device and usage data described above with the following partners, who process it on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own privacy policies:
| Partner | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase Analytics | App usage analytics |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting and diagnostics |
| AppsFlyer | Install attribution and marketing measurement |
| Adjust | Install attribution and marketing measurement |
| Ube | Marketing measurement |
| Google (including Google Ads) | Advertising measurement and campaign optimization |
| Meta (including Facebook and Instagram ads) | Advertising measurement and campaign optimization |
| Apple App Store | App distribution, purchases, and subscriptions |
| Google Firebase Hosting | Website hosting |
None of these partners receive your photos or photo metadata.
8. Tracking and Your Choices
On iOS, we only access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow it through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, our partners may still receive aggregated, non-identifying attribution data through Apple's privacy-preserving frameworks such as AdAttributionKit and SKAdNetwork.
You can change your choice at any time:
- Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device and turn off tracking for Photo Optimizer, or turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" for all apps.
- Contact us at privacy@pintraveler.net to ask us to stop sharing your device's data with our partners.
9. Where We Store Your Data
The data we collect is processed primarily in the United States by us and our partners, and may also be processed in other countries where those partners operate. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your data may be transferred outside those regions. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Disclosure of Your Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data for money, and we never share your photos. Beyond the partners listed above, we may disclose personal data:
- To comply with a law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or other legal process.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, in which case the data remains subject to this policy.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Pin Traveler, our users, or others.
11. Retention of Your Personal Data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Analytics, crash, and attribution data are retained according to the retention settings of the partners listed above, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your request.
Deleting the App removes all App data stored on your device. Because we do not have accounts, data already collected by us and our partners is linked to device identifiers rather than to your name; see section 15 to request its deletion.
12. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and the security infrastructure of our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because your photos never leave your device, they are not exposed to risks on our side.
13. Data Leak Protocol
If we become aware of a security breach affecting personal data, we will investigate promptly, take steps to contain it, and notify the relevant authorities as required by law. Because we do not collect contact details, we will notify users by posting a notice on our website and, where possible, in the App, describing what happened and any steps you should take.
14. Age Requirement
The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
15. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate personal data.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing for marketing measurement.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email privacy@pintraveler.net with the subject line "Privacy". Because we do not have accounts, we may ask for information that helps us find your device's data, such as your App Store purchase receipt. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
16. Notice for California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA), in the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from your device and through our partners' SDKs:
- Identifiers, such as device identifiers and IP address.
- Commercial information, such as subscription and purchase status.
- Internet or other electronic network activity, such as App usage and interaction data.
- Approximate geolocation derived from IP address.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, sharing device identifiers with advertising and measurement partners such as Google and Meta may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out by turning off tracking as described in section 8 or by emailing us. We do not collect sensitive personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
17. Updates to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we may also notify you in the App. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
